Gina Content Management System
Week 15, lighten the load.
After careful deliberation, endless hours of contemplation, TXP CMS will not have plugin capabilities. The amount of work to get plugins in shape and their continued maintenance, far outweighs the benefits.
Components, code snippets, will take the place of plugins.
The TXP CMS core will be much lighter now, along with plugins, comments will also hit the cutting room floor. This will make the backend admin screens easier to design and work with, let’s call it Textpattern lite.
Should anyone require more power, there’s always big brother to migrate to.
This puts TXP CMS squarely in the end-user camp. There should be no problem drawing distinctions between the two projects at this point.
The core will stay true to Textpattern. We love TXP Tags, coupled with an agile framework, should satisfy the needs of a decent sized demographic.
